About me

Gliding - a sport I took up quite late, in my early forties. My studies, family and job kept me away from it. It was only during a cross-country flight, to which a friend and colleague invited me, that I got hooked. This friend was also a flight instructor and took me under his wing. Shortly after the training, I was able to buy a DG400, which has carried me safely through the air ever since.

Gliding is immensely fascinating. It is not only flying with the feeling of freedom and being unbound. It is also technology, aerodynamics, aircraft construction, electronics. And it is meteorology, weather science and the first law of thermodynamics.

My passion is gliding and meteorology. This is what the content of this website is all about.

If you too would like to start gliding, simply visit a gliding airfield near you. The clubs are happy to welcome anyone who is interested and will be pleased to offer you a trial flight.

By the way, my home club is LSV Gifhorn. It is one of the largest German air sports clubs. Many successful participants in German and international championships in cross-country gliding, aerobatics and model flying come from its ranks. Our gliding site is located in northern Germany between Harz and Heide, in a region with excellent flying conditions. Why not drop by for a cross-country flight?
